SEARCHING FOR SEAN SIDI 8 MONTHS LATER 

It has been 8 months since Sean (age 19) vanished without a trace from San Francisco, CA. From day one, Sean’s severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) stacked the odds of survival AGAINST him. Doctors were clear about this. On the other hand, the prayers and help from so many of you continue to give us HOPE that we may find Sean in time. 

To that end – WE ARE AGAIN ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. 

OVERALL PLAN: We continue to follow ALL leads (they continue to come in). However, since we have NO confirmed leads placing Sean at a definite location, and given the possibility that Sean may be on the move (and the urgency of finding Sean ASAP) - the search for SEAN is being coordinated from 3 main areas. 

1. BAKERSFIELD, STOCKTON, SACRAMENTO, LOS ANGELES – ALONG HWY 5 

THIS IS THE AREA THAT WE NEED THE MOST HELP !!!!! 

IF YOU HAVE CONTACTS – (friends, church groups etc) IN THIS AREA – WE DESPERATELY NEED HELP WITH POSTING & DISTRIBUTING SEAN’S FLIERS TO HOMELESS SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS AND TO THOSE LIVING ON THE STREETS/ PARKS. 


2. SAN DIEGO AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Many living on the streets are moving SOUTH this time of year. 

The Southern Division of ‘NOR CAL Alliance for the Missing’ has started distribution of Sean’s fliers in San Diego and surrounding areas. However, this is a VAST AREA with MANY SHELTERS & LOTS of PEOPLE LIVING ON THE STREETS. 

MORE HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO POST AND DISTRIBUTE SEAN’S FLIERS TO HOMELESS SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS , LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HOSPITALS IN THE SAN DIEGO area.

3. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

This is ground zero. Thanks to ALL OF YOU, fliers continue to be distributed throughout Northern California. 
YOU CAN CONTINUE TO HELP BY KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR SEAN, AND BY CONTINUING TO REPOST AND DISTRIBUTE SEANS FLIERS THROUGHOUT SAN FRANCISCO, MARIN, THRU SANTA CRUZ AND THE ENTIRE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA.

LAST NIGHT someone called in a possible "Sean sighting". This person was not aware of the search for Sean until seeing Sean's missing person flier in San Francisco, and then again in San Rafael, yesterday. Upon seeing the flier the second time in San Rafael (Marin) the caller felt compelled to call in a possible sighting. 

She described a mixed race (white/asian) teen in the company of an older white male at PEETS COFFEE in SAN RAFAEL (Marin). The teen was unresponsive and the older man kept pulling the teen towards him. 

THE CALLER WAS NOT SURE WHETHER THE TEEN WAS SEAN. (She could not recall whether the teen had dental braces, scar on forehead etc.) HOWEVER, SHE FELT COMPELLED TO ALERT US.

Sean SIDI, age 19 yrs., suffered a severe traumatic brain injury shortly before going missing on May 21, 2013, from San Francisco, California. Sean is in URGENT NEED of medical care. Sean is 5'5", 120 lbs., Asian/Caucasian, dark brown wavy hair (LIKELY AN AFRO BY NOW IF NOT TRIMMED); dark brown eyes, wears SILVER DENTAL BRACES, has dimples, right eye droops slightly, has scar on right forehead from brain surgery. Sean may seem lost or confused.

Dear Friends & Family,

In view of the search and rescue (SAR) team’s ‘strong scent’ recent find of Sean (see post of Dec 28, 2013), we are  seeking HELP posting Sean’s fliers.  THE FLIERS PLAY A CRUCIAL PART IN LOCATING SEAN.    

1.  THOSE LIVING OR WORKING IN SAN FRANCISCO:  

Fliers are pulled down by street cleaners within days of being posted.    Therefore, this time around, we would like to try the following (in addition to those who are so generously posting in a given area- thank you!!):

**** We are seeking help from as many people as possible to  POST JUST A FEW (3 OR 4)  of SEANS FLIERS on your weekly route –  and TO REPOST THE FLIERS AS NEEDED (i.e. as they are torn down), UNTIL SEAN IS FOUND.   If possible, please message or email lynnkching@yahoo.com, so that the GRID MAP can be completed.  The goal is to get most San Francisco streets posted with at least 1 of Sean’s Missing Person Flier.

2.  THOSE LIVING IN MARIN OR SONOMA COUNTY, NORTH ALONG HWY 1 OR 101.

There are various tips which make the Hwy 101 & Hwy 1 corridor (NORTH THRU MARIN AND SONOMA COUNTY) a posting priority (at this time) ALONG with San Francisco:   PLEASE POST IN THE CITIES IN MARIN AND SONOMA.  MANY PEOPLE LIVING HERE ARE NOT AWARE THAT SEAN IS CRITICALLY MISSING. 

3.   ELSEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA OR THE USA.  – PLEASE POST!!!!

YOUR FLIER MAY BE THE ONE THAT BRINGS SEAN HOME TO US, SAFE~!!

SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS PICK UP SEAN SIDI’S SCENT – PLEASE SHARE

Given Sean’s traumatic brain injury and other pre-existing medical conditions at the time Sean went missing from San Francisco, CA on May 21, 2013, there was serious concern whether Sean was still alive.

Last week, a search and rescue dog team came to San Francisco to search for Sean.  This team has worked with the FBI on many missing person cases.  To our amazement, the dogs made a “strong scent” find [of Sean] in various parts of San Francisco.  The strong scent finds occurred -  near and around hippy hill (Golden Gate Park;  near and around the small park at Octavia/Fell;  near and around the Presidio near Mountain Lake;  near and around 1801 Wedemeyer (in the Presidio); and near and around Lake Street between 11^th and 15^th Avenue. 

We have been informed that a “strong scent” find means that an item belonging to Sean or Sean himself was at the “find site” WITHIN 6 WEEKS of the find (scent would fade after 6 weeks).   While there is always room for error, the lead handler said that based on the dogs’ behavior, she strongly believes that the dogs had picked up Sean’s (and not someone else’s) scent.

In the context of other tips received, we are SEEKING HELP IN POSTING SEAN’S FLIERS ANYWHERE THAT YOU MAY BE LOCATED, WITH A FOCUS (1) IN SAN FRANCISCO AND (2) ALONG HWY 1 & HWY 101 NORTH THROUGH MARIN & SONOMA COUNTY. 

The dogs’ “find” has given us hope that Sean is still alive.  On the other hand, comments from those providing tips indicate that “Sean” appears in need of medical care.

DUE TO SEAN'S BRAIN INJURY AND OTHER MEDICAL ISSUES, SEAN VERY LIKELY DOES NOT KNOW WHO OR WHERE HE IS. HE NEEDS US TO FIND HIM....

When Sean first went missing on May 21, 2013, Klaas Kids Foundation told us to cast the net for Sean, FAR AND WIDE. They told us of a case very similar to Sean's, of a 20 year old young man in California who had suffered a traumatic brain injury, lost his memory, and ended up in another STATE, with NO MONEY, within 3 days!!!! 

This family was very lucky that a concerned citizen noticed that this young man needed help. Please HELP US SPREAD WORD ABOUT OUR SEARCH FOR SEAN by sharing, posting fliers, and helping us in our mass mailing campaigns to hospitals and homeless shelters across the nation. We can only locate Sean if EVERYONE knows that Sean is missing!
