We need your help to find our son

UPDATE: SEAN SIDI VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AT PEETS SAN RAFAEL AND LAUREL VILLAGE, SAN FRANCISCO

We were in contact with managers at PEETS in San Rafael this weekend. Over the last 2 days, PEETS’ explanation as to WHO previously viewed the video – IF AT ALL- has changed several times. We are unsure as to why this is occurring and hope to get coherent answers this week.

The vendor at Laurel Village SF has indicated that we must provide exact DATE and TIME (within an hour) to access video surveillance. With the permission of the person who provided the tip, we have asked the vendor to access purchase information to attempt to pin down date/time. A week has elapsed with no answers.

THANK YOU to so many of you who have posted in Marin!!!! Apparently, the fliers near the San Rafael/3rd Street PEETS location are being pulled down within 1 - 2 days. However, it appears that you all are reposting!!

We have been told that BOLINAS remains an overlooked area – and one with a lot of homeless people. If anyone knows people who live in the area, willing to post Sean’s missing fliers, please have them email lynnkching@yahoo.com, and we will mail a packet of fliers to them.

Over the course of the last several months, we have had several (unconfirmed) sightings and the 'strong scent find' of the search and rescue (SAR) dogs. While NONE of the sightings have been confirmed, in the absence of other information, we remain hopeful that Sean is still ALIVE. That being said, doctors have warned that Sean DOES NOT have time on his side.

Please keep an eye out for SEAN SIDI, particularly among people living on the streets or in the parks. Sean is Asian/Caucasian, 19 years old, 5’5”, 120 lbs, slim build; dark brown eyes and dark brown wavy hair (AFRO looking if not trimmed); he wears SILVER DENTAL BRACES; has a BUMP on right forehead from brain surgery; right eye droops slightly; and has dimples.   See www.seansidi.com or www.facebook.com/findseansidi for more information on the search for critically injured Sean Sidi, age 19, missing from San Francisco, CA May 21, 2013.

If you think that you see Sean, please text or email a PICTURE of “SEAN” to 415.713.5913 or lynnkching@yahoo.com. REMEMBER, TO ACCESS SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS, we will need the DATE, TIME and LOCATION of the “Sean sighting”.

WORDS OF HOPE FROM A SUPPORTER OF THE SEARCH FOR SEAN SIDI

Weighed down with the flu, and paralyzed with the fear of never finding Sean (Sidi), I found it difficult to do anything this week but despair....An email received tonight from Sandra M. has once again reminded me that Claude and I are not alone in our desperate and sometimes, lonely search to find Sean. Below is Sandra's letter of hope.

"Hello Lynn,

I spent some time Tuesday distributing fliers around Laurel Village, Masonic, Golden Gate Park and along Haight Street. I spoke to young street people, older people, and everyone in between. The overwhelming majority of people I encountered with Sean's story, I would venture 90%+, had heard about Sean and had seen your fliers. Remarkable! I felt very encouraged by this news, your efforts in getting the word out about Sean will payoff. I enlisted each of the people I met on our search. I asked them to look at Sean's sweet face and remember the braces, possible big hair, and the possibility of him traveling with an older man and asked them to call 911 if they think they see him and not to leave him. I will continue to check on our fliers to ensure they haven't been taken down and distribute to friends in Sonoma County and elsewhere in the Bay Area.

Peets has distribute the flier to all of its SF stores, I'm trying to get the district Mgr to distribute further. I am waiting to hear back from Starbucks. Both coffee shops at Laurel Village have been given a flier and have posted in their employee break room. I've asked personnel at a few hospitals to post Sean's flier in their employee break rooms and ERs. I asked Target and Trader Joe's on Masonic to do the same (they have a lot of employees! maybe someone will recognize Sean). The 76 station on California/Arguelo has posted the flier. I posted Sean's flier in several bus shelters in SF. As I come across other high traffic intersections, I will continue to post.

Thinking and praying for your entire family daily. You are not alone in your search. Keep your spirits up, we will find him, I'm certain of it.

In hope and continued prayer,
Sandra M."

Thank you Sandra and to ALL OF YOU - who give us HOPE that we will one day hold Sean in our arms again...We could not possibly find Sean without your help.

With Much Gratitude,

Lynn & Claude

WOULD YOU RECOGNIZE SEAN SIDI?

It has been 8 long months since Sean SIDI, age 19, vanished without a trace from San Francisco, CA, on May 21, 2013. This morning, I was speaking to a friend (who had not met Sean in person) on the telephone while she was driving (hands free, of course). All of a sudden she pulled to the side and made a U turn, as she thought that she had seen Sean. She was not sure whether it was Sean, but was unwilling to let him escape. "Sean" noticed her following him in her car and approached her car window. My friend told "Sean" that he looked like the missing person she was seeking. "Sean" indicated that he was NOT a missing person. Undeterred, my friend asked "Sean" whether he wore braces. "Sean" said 'no'. My friend finally allowed "Sean" to leave.

THE POINT IS THAT IT IS NOT SO EASY TO RECOGNIZE SEAN, made harder if he has been living on the streets for the past 8 months.

BEFORE SEAN'S ACCIDENT: FOR THOSE WHO KNEW SEAN IN HIGH SCHOOL (JUNE 2012) AND BEFORE THE ACCIDENT, Sean wore his hair SHORT and did not wear dental braces.

AFTER SEAN's ACCIDENT IN DEC 2012, Sean grew his hair LONG to cover the scars. He also agreed to put on dental braces (again) to correct a problem with his bite which occurred when his jaw continued to grow after his braces were taken off in 9th grade.

SUMMARY; SEAN SIDI, AGE 19, WOULD LIKELY HAVE LONG HAIR, LOOKING LIKE AN AFRO IF IT HAS NOT BEEN TRIMMED FOR 8 MONTHS.  Sean does not grow much facial hair.  WE ARE ASSUMING HE IS STILL WEARING DENTAL BRACES. HE IS 5'5" AND 120 LBS, DK BROWN HAIR (WAVY) AND DK BROWN EYES. SEAN HAS DIMPLES. HE COULD BE WEARING SUNGLASSES (not sure if he had any with him).  HE WILL BE LIKELY LOOKING LOST OR OUT OF SORTS.

SEAN IS ASIAN, FRENCH AND ITALIAN.

PLEASE COMPARE THE (top photo) PRE-INJURY PHOTO (taken @June 2012) with the SHORT HAIR (for those who knew Sean in high school), with the POST INJURY photo taken about 3 months after Sean's accident (@March 2013) WITH LONGER HAIR AND DENTAL BRACES.

HOPEFULLY, THIS WILL ASSIST IN RECOGNIZING SEAN. PLEASE CALL & TEXT (415.713.5913) or email lynnkching@yahoo.com, if you think you see Sean.

SEAN SIDI FAMILY SEARCH PLANS JANUARY 2014

Dear Friends & Family,

In view of the search and rescue (SAR) team’s ‘strong scent’ recent find of Sean (see post of Dec 28, 2013), we are  seeking HELP posting Sean’s fliers.  THE FLIERS PLAY A CRUCIAL PART IN LOCATING SEAN.

1.  THOSE LIVING OR WORKING IN SAN FRANCISCO:

Fliers are pulled down by street cleaners within days of being posted.    Therefore, this time around, we would like to try the following (in addition to those who are so generously posting in a given area- thank you!!):

**** We are seeking help from as many people as possible to  POST JUST A FEW (3 OR 4)  of SEANS FLIERS on your weekly route –  and TO REPOST THE FLIERS AS NEEDED (i.e. as they are torn down), UNTIL SEAN IS FOUND.   If possible, please message or email lynnkching@yahoo.com, so that the GRID MAP can be completed.  The goal is to get most San Francisco streets posted with at least 1 of Sean’s Missing Person Flier.

2.  THOSE LIVING IN MARIN OR SONOMA COUNTY, NORTH ALONG HWY 1 OR 101.

There are various tips which make the Hwy 101 & Hwy 1 corridor (NORTH THRU MARIN AND SONOMA COUNTY) a posting priority (at this time) ALONG with San Francisco:   PLEASE POST IN THE CITIES IN MARIN AND SONOMA.  MANY PEOPLE LIVING HERE ARE NOT AWARE THAT SEAN IS CRITICALLY MISSING.

3.   ELSEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA OR THE USA.  – PLEASE POST!!!!

YOUR FLIER MAY BE THE ONE THAT BRINGS SEAN HOME TO US, SAFE~!!

We will provide more information regarding tips received and upcoming plans, in the days to come.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!!

IN HOPE,

SEAN SIDI’S FAMILY

THANKS TO EVERYONE POSTING SEAN SIDI'S FLIERS

At this juncture we remain hopeful that Sean is still alive.   While none of the recent sightings have been confirmed (by someone who knows Sean personally), many of the tips have referenced a young man who is need of medical care.

Your help in posting Sean's missing person flier in San Francisco, up the Hwy 101 & Hwy 1 Marin/Sonoma corridor & beyond, greatly increases our chances of finding Sean in time.

Thank you for all your help!
