STRONG SHOW OF SUPPORT AT 'WALK FOR SEAN SIDI'

CLAUDE & I were literally moved to tears by YOUR incredible show of support yesterday. Well over 100 of you braved traffic on your day off - TO WALK FOR SEAN!!!

The attendance & speeches of Sean's friends, many who apparently just flew in from college for the summer, was a surprise which WARMED our hearts.

Our photographers, Rika and Kathleen (thank you!) have hundreds of photos of the START, the actual 2 mile walk & END point at the park. We will POST them over the next few days.

Thank you ALL again for your undying support of the search for Sean (Sidi) over the past year!

See www.seansidi.com or www.facebook.com/findseansidi for more information on the search for Sean SIDI missing from San Francisco, CA May 21, 2013.

WE NEED PHOTOS OF "SEAN" SIDI

THUS FAR WE HAVE ONLY RECEIVED 2 PHOTOS OF "SEAN".

If you are in San Francisco / Haight / Hippy Hill area, we need people 1) to DISTRIBUTE Sean's fliers to police and those in the park and 2) to TAKE A PHOTO OF ANYONE RESEMBLING SEAN & send TO 415.713.5913. DUE TO HIS TBI AND COMPLICATIONS, SEAN VERY LIKELY HAS NO MEMORY OF US, THEREFORE, WE NEED TO FIND HIM.

This is the report of someone who went out mid-week.

'We talked to a group of 4 homeless kids at the north West end of Hippy Hill under the trees. They said they know of Sean and have seen him recently, but that he goes by Sidi and not Sean, sometimes wears a washboard on his chest, pillow case on his plays a steel drum, dimples, braces (she mentioned the braces without me mentioning them), says he use to wear punk clothing, big bushy hair and facial hair (thin facial hair). Sometime hangs with a girl (she said girlfriend, When we mentioned the brain injury and the steel plate, they said "that explains a lot".

This search was prompted by a sighting of a young man fitting Sean's description in oversized blue hoodie (on Page & Stanyan St.) holding his LEFT WRIST. AT THE TIME THAT SEAN WENT MISSING IN MALY 2013, HE HAD BEEN MOVED FROM A DRY CAST TO A REMOVABLE CAST AFTER UNDEGOING (LEFT) WRIST SURGERY IN JANUARY. THIS WAS A VERY BAD BREAK. IF SEAN HAD REMOVED THE BLACK (REMOVABLE CAST), THE WRIST WOULD LIKELY NOT HAVE HEALED.

PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO AND SEND TO 415.713.5913 - SEAN IS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE !!!!!!

For more information about the search for critically injureed Sean Sidi, 19 yrs. (age time of missing), missing from San Francisco May 21, 2013, please see www.facebook.com/findseansidi or www.seansidi.com.

Update on Search in GG Park for Sean SIDI Following Today's Sighting

For those NOT on facebook.com/findseansidi, there are many people out searching for Sean following the tip received this morning.

This is a partial report from one group of searchers.

IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA, PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR SEAN !!!! There are many kids living in the park. The park police will probably not be able to pick Sean out from the many, many people living in the park near Hippy Hill (near Stanyan /Haight).

Words of HOPE about Sean SIDI, from a Street Youth

Over the past 10 months since our son, Sean SIDI went missing from San Francisco on May 21, 2013, we have been blessed with the support of MANY -

Recently Lynn (Sean's mom) received an email from a street youth who was a former missing person, who we will call 'MM'. MM has lived in Golden Gate Park and is wise to the ways of the streets. She also has been on the look out for Sean (SIDI) - for some time now. MM is aware that Sean suffered a life threatening traumatic brain injury shortly before going missing, and may not be cognizant of who he is/we are.

THE email from MM said:

"I tried with a group to find Sean at GGP (Golden Gate Park). I was a missing youth for a few years and I know that a young person can be successful and healthy with his injuries. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP HOPE."

Thank you MM for your letter of HOPE, AND for searching for Sean!!

Lynn, Claude & Danielle SIDI

SOME COMMENTS POSTED ON www.facebook.com/findseansidi:

Renee Callantine That's a wonderful photo. I was at the US District Court in San Jose yesterday and they have Sean's flyer prominently displayed on a stand next to the elevators. You are certainly doing the best you can possibly do to find him, and I pray that he comes home soon.

FIND SEAN SIDI Really? Thank you SO much for letting us know Renee! Thank you also to the person(s) responsible for getting Sean's flier there! In part, HOPE comes from knowing that awareness of the search for Sean is still alive. Thanks to social media and most of all - to SO MANY COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE - we stand a chance of finding Sean. At minimum, I hope that the search for Sean brings awareness to the 2,000 people who go missing every day & how public awareness CAN make a difference to many who go missing. MANY missing (of which a good number are like Sean, that is, vulnerable and at high risk due to a cognitive medical condition) are found by alert, caring members of the public. In Hope, Lynn (Sean's mom

WORDS OF HOPE FROM A SUPPORTER OF THE SEARCH FOR SEAN SIDI

Weighed down with the flu, and paralyzed with the fear of never finding Sean (Sidi), I found it difficult to do anything this week but despair....An email received tonight from Sandra M. has once again reminded me that Claude and I are not alone in our desperate and sometimes, lonely search to find Sean. Below is Sandra's letter of hope.

"Hello Lynn,

I spent some time Tuesday distributing fliers around Laurel Village, Masonic, Golden Gate Park and along Haight Street. I spoke to young street people, older people, and everyone in between. The overwhelming majority of people I encountered with Sean's story, I would venture 90%+, had heard about Sean and had seen your fliers. Remarkable! I felt very encouraged by this news, your efforts in getting the word out about Sean will payoff. I enlisted each of the people I met on our search. I asked them to look at Sean's sweet face and remember the braces, possible big hair, and the possibility of him traveling with an older man and asked them to call 911 if they think they see him and not to leave him. I will continue to check on our fliers to ensure they haven't been taken down and distribute to friends in Sonoma County and elsewhere in the Bay Area.

Peets has distribute the flier to all of its SF stores, I'm trying to get the district Mgr to distribute further. I am waiting to hear back from Starbucks. Both coffee shops at Laurel Village have been given a flier and have posted in their employee break room. I've asked personnel at a few hospitals to post Sean's flier in their employee break rooms and ERs. I asked Target and Trader Joe's on Masonic to do the same (they have a lot of employees! maybe someone will recognize Sean). The 76 station on California/Arguelo has posted the flier. I posted Sean's flier in several bus shelters in SF. As I come across other high traffic intersections, I will continue to post.

Thinking and praying for your entire family daily. You are not alone in your search. Keep your spirits up, we will find him, I'm certain of it.

In hope and continued prayer,
Sandra M."

Thank you Sandra and to ALL OF YOU - who give us HOPE that we will one day hold Sean in our arms again...We could not possibly find Sean without your help.

With Much Gratitude,

Lynn & Claude

SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS PICK UP SEAN SIDI’S SCENT

SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS PICK UP SEAN SIDI’S SCENT – PLEASE SHARE

Given Sean’s traumatic brain injury and other pre-existing medical conditions at the time Sean went missing from San Francisco, CA on May 21, 2013, there was serious concern whether Sean was still alive.

Last week, a search and rescue dog team came to San Francisco to search for Sean.  This team has worked with the FBI on many missing person cases.  To our amazement, the dogs made a “strong scent” find [of Sean] in various parts of San Francisco.  The strong scent finds occurred -  near and around hippy hill (Golden Gate Park;  near and around the small park at Octavia/Fell;  near and around the Presidio near Mountain Lake;  near and around 1801 Wedemeyer (in the Presidio); and near and around Lake Street between 11th and 15th Avenue.

We have been informed that a “strong scent” find means that an item belonging to Sean or Sean himself was at the “find site” WITHIN 6 WEEKS of the find (scent would fade after 6 weeks).   While there is always room for error, the lead handler said that based on the dogs’ behavior, she strongly believes that the dogs had picked up Sean’s (and not someone else’s) scent.

In the context of other tips received, we are SEEKING HELP IN POSTING SEAN’S FLIERS ANYWHERE THAT YOU MAY BE LOCATED, WITH A FOCUS (1) IN SAN FRANCISCO AND (2) ALONG HWY 1 & HWY 101 NORTH THROUGH MARIN & SONOMA COUNTY.

The dogs’ “find” has given us hope that Sean is still alive.  On the other hand, comments from those providing tips indicate that “Sean” appears in need of medical care.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW.  IF YOU CAN, PLEASE HELP POST SEAN’S FLIERS.

To have Sean’s missing person fliers mailed to you, email lynnkching@yahoo.com.   Fliers can also downloaded from www.seansidi.com or www.facebook.com/findseansidi.
