Help find Sean Sidi

We need your help to find our son

A Note From Sean Sidi's Family - Project Jason 18 Wheel Angels

Dear All,

THANK YOU to those of you who attended the Joint Awareness Vigil on Saturday, September 14, 2013. We were moved to see so many friends and family in attendance.  The vigil was very helpful in raising public awareness of our search for SEAN, and generating new tips.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Sean has now been missing for 4 months!

Based on information to date, we feel that Sean is very likely homeless, wandering aimlessly and too ill to ask for help, or to know that he needs help.    Locating him will NOT be easy.   With your help, we are doing everything in our power to locate Sean.

IT IS ALL ABOUT GETTING THE WORD OUT !!!!!

Here are just a few of the things that are being done to help locate Sean:

1.            The ‘National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’ (“NCMEC”), in conjunction with its corporate poster partners has posted Sean’s fliers in the Western United States and Washington, D.C.

2.            “Project Jason”-  In 2003, Kelly Murphy established “Project Jason”, after her 19 year old son, Jason, vanished without a trace in June 2001, from Omaha, Nebraska.  See www.projectjason.org.  Project Jason, assists families of missing persons and has several very creative programs designed to raise public awareness of missing persons:

“18 Wheels Angel Program”

18 Wheel Angels is an all volunteer program in which truck drivers volunteer their time and resources to help locate missing loved ones.

During the month of September 2013, Sean will be featured in several Truckers magazines.  Truckers driving across the United States, will be downloading and posting SEAN’s ’18 Wheels Angel’ flier as they travel.  A copy of Sean’s 18 Wheel Angels Flier is featured in this post.    Thank you to Project Jason and all the 18 Wheel Angels posting Sean’s fliers!!

“Come Home Program”

Come Home is a unique national missing person’s locator program sponsored by Project Jason. Come Home posters are placed at homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and other locations where homeless persons gather.   In the near future, a “COME HOME” poster will be designed for SEAN by Project Jason.  Sean’s ‘COME HOME’ poster will be downloaded and posted by homeless shelters and soup kitchens across the nation, who have agreed to partner with PROJECT JASON to help locate missing persons.

Thank you Project Jason for all you have done!!!!

3.           MISSING” TV SHOWSean will be featured on the TV show, “Missing”, the week of October 21, 2013 on KTVU Channel 2 (San Francisco).  We will provide more specific information as to the exact time and date, as soon as possible.

4.            BillboardsLostNMissing, a non profit organization supporting families of missing persons, has negotiated for display of a billboard at Valencia Street (BETWEEN Duboce & Market St) in San Francisco, featuring Sean and the 4 other young men missing from San Francisco:  Chrishtian Hughes, Shawn Dickerson, Cameron Remmer and Jackson Miller.   The billboard is UP – COME AND SEE IT!   Thank you LostNMissing!!!

5.            Mass Mailing to Law EnforcementStarting with San Francisco, then expanding to every city in California and beyond, we will be mass mailing a letter and Sean’s flier to law enforcement across the United States.  Believe it or not, this has located some missing persons.

6.            Mass Mailing to Soup Kitchens and Homeless SheltersStarting with San Francisco, then expanding to every city in California and beyond, we will be mass mailing a letter and Project Jason’s “Come Home” flier to homeless shelters and soup kitchens across the United States.  This has worked for some.

7.          Posting Sean’s Fliers We will continue to post Sean’s fliers.    Tips continue to come in from the fliers posted by all of you.   If you need fliers to post, please email lynnkching@yahoo.com.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

-       If you have ideas or contacts that might help use raise public awareness of Sean’s plight, please contact us at 415.713.5913 or lynnkching@yahoo.com.

-       If you would like to help with our mass mailing efforts to law enforcement (or later, to soup kitchens and homeless shelters), please email us at lynnkching@yahoo.com, and she will send you fliers, envelopes and stamps along with a list of cities we are working on.

-      Continue posting Sean’s fliers, even posting 1 flier each day HELPS so much!!!!!

THANK YOU TO SO MANY OF YOU WHO CONTINUE TO WORK TIRELESSLY ON SEAN’S BEHALF!!!!

With Gratitude,

Lynn, Claude and Danielle

JOINT AWARENESS VIGIL AT GOLDEN GATE PARK, A NOTE FROM THE SIDI FAMILY

Thank you for all of you who came to the Vigil yesterday to support the families of the missing boys from San Francisco ~ Crishtian Hughes, Shawn Dickerson, Cameron Remmer, Jackson Miller and our son Sean. It was heart breaking to hear the parents speak about their missing sons.

We need to keep the awareness of these missing boys alive ~ each of these boys deserve to be brought home safely to their families. As difficult as it continues to be each and every day for us, we must continue our search.

We certainly appreciate everyone's help. With your help, we have been able to expand our outreach of Sean's disappearance throughout several western states. Thank you.

The Sidi Family

A note from Sidi Family Friend Kathleen Fazekas

Dear Sidi Friends and San Francisco Community,

Despite several searches by hundreds of people, and the distribution of over 30,000 missing person fliers, Sean has still not been located.  The Sidi Family continues to move forward in hopes of finding their son.  They have announced that they will be holding a “Joint Awareness Vigil” this coming Saturday, September 14th @ 2:00pm with 4 other families who also have sons missing from San Francisco.  Please join us if you can. Come hear the families speak about their on-going search for their missing sons, and what – if anything – San Francisco Police is doing to help locate these young men.

WHAT:          ‘Joint Awareness Vigil’ (attached is the flier)
WHERE:       Golden Gate Park – Music Concourse (next to Academy of Science)
WHEN:         Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
WHY:            The purpose of the Joint Awareness Vigil is to raise public awareness of the families’ desperate search to locate their sons, ALL of whom went missing in San Francisco:  Sean Sidi (19 yrs old, missing May 21, 2013); Chrishtian Hughes (20 yrs old, missing February 7, 2013); Shawn Dickerson(age 24, missing December 2, 2011); Cameron Remmer (31 yrs old, missing October 6, 2011); Jackson Miller (23 yrs old, missing May 15, 2010).

Why are so many young men missing from San Francisco?  What is San Francisco Police doing to help the families locate their sons?  Do missing boys in San Francisco get less attention from law enforcement than missing girls?

According to Kym Pasqualini, Founder of the ‘National Center for Missing Adults, “These families have faced numerous barriers with San Francisco Police Department in their individual searches for their children, and their concern as to what exactly is being done by San Francisco Police, to find these young men is warranted.”

PARKING OPTIONS: 1) Street; 2)  Music Concourse parking lot - enter Fulton & 10th / $5 per hour; 3) Event Parking behind Music Concourse - enter 9th/Lincoln or Fulton & 8th & drive to Music Concourse Dr ($ 8 /day).  You will need to have a copy of Sean's Missing Flier to show that you are part of event (attached is a copy of the flier); 4)  Kezar Lot (on Stanyan)

For continued updates on Sean, you may visit either Facebook or the website http://www.facebook.com/findseansidi and http://www.seansidi.com.  And for more information, you may contact Lynn Ching (Sean Sidi’s mom) 415-713-5913.

The Sidi’s greatly appreciate your continued support, as your support gives them strength to continue their search for Sean.

Thank you on behalf of the Sidi Family,

Kathleen Fazekas

9/8/2013 - FAMILY UPDATE ON THE SEARCH FOR SEAN

TIPS AND SIGHTINGS

This week, we (Sean’s parents) viewed 2 video surveillance tapes based on tips provided by the public. The persons calling in the tips noted the exact location of “Sean” and advised us that there was a surveillance camera on the route that “Sean” walked.   While the ‘tips’ were NOT Sean, video surveillance was an effective way of confirming this information. The tips are not as frequent as before, however, this may be attributed to the fact that the San Francisco Police’s telephone number was added to Sean’s flier after the REWARD was announced in late July. We have recently REVISED Sean’s flier to include our telephone number as the primary “TIP CALL IN” number (see below).

NEXT WEEK

Next week, volunteers will be searching the Tenderloin District in San Francisco, for Sean.  In hopes of generating more tips, the volunteers will be POSTING Sean’s NEWEST FLIER.  The NEWEST FLIER uses our (Sean’s parents) telephone at 415.713.5913 as the “TIP” call in number. We did this because several people reported that no one answered the telephone when they called San Francisco Police to report a tip! Also, it is uncertain whether San Francisco Police follows up on every tip.

THANK YOU to all of you who helped POST Sean’s NEWEST FLIER last week. Hopefully, this will help generate more leads to Sean’s whereabouts.    There are still many people who do not know about the search for Sean. Others believe that Sean has been found. The most common comment we hear when posting is, “You still haven’t found him?”

Unfortunately, we still have not found Sean. The REVISED FLIERS make this clear, with the heading,  “STILL MISSING”.

IS THAT “SEAN”?

It may be difficult to recognize Sean if he has been living on the streets since May 21, 2013, the day he vanished. Here are some hints to pass on:

-          SEAN HAS BRIGHT SILVER BRACES ON HIS TEETH!!!!!!

-          SEAN has DIMPLES.

-          SEAN will probably have “BIG HAIR”. Sean’s hair is wavy and gets ‘puffy’ as it grows.

-          SEAN will likely be confused and disoriented.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE “SEAN”:

Put Sean’s picture and our telephone number (415.713.5913) in your cell phone.

If you see “Sean” -

1.         CALL US (Sean’s parents) at the number on the POSTER anytime - at (415.713.5913). San Francisco Police will NOT follow up on ALL TIPS. WE WILL. If you don’t have our number, call 9-1-1. San Francisco Police are well aware of the search for Sean.

2.         Note the precise information: street location (and cross streets), the exact time that you spotted Sean (this may help if there are surveillance cameras nearby);  description of clothing  Sean is wearing, whether another person is accompanying Sean, whether Sean is carrying anything such as a bag or backpack.

If you can, stay with “Sean” until help arrives.

3.         TAKE A PICTURE OF “Sean” with your CELL PHONE and send to us (Sean’s parents) at:  415.713.5913 or lynnkching@yahoo.com

 HOW TO HELP

  1. HELP INCREASE TIPS, by posting Sean’s NEWEST FLIER with the NEW TIP CONTACT NUMBER - 415.713.5913. This will ensure that ALL tips are checked out.   Even posting 1 or 2 fliers a day helps.

Email lynnkching@yahoo.com for fliers, or download from www.seansidi.com or facebook.com/findseansidi.

  1. SEAN MAY BE UNRECOGNIZABLE AT FIRST GLANCE. LOOK CAREFULLY at each person laying on the ground or walking around – IT MAY BE SEAN!!!
  2. Attend the ‘Joint Awareness Vigil’, Saturday, Sept 14, 2013 at 2 pm, Music Concourse at Golden Gate Park.

Thank you !!!

A Letter to Sean from Danielle Sidi (Sean Sidi's sister)

Sean,

I miss you so much I feel sick. Looking through old pictures of us together just makes me break down into tears. The memories of us skiing together, building forts together, playing games together, basically doing everything together just kills me. I can’t take the pain of you missing.
I can’t sleep at night thinking about you, and when I finally do fall asleep you’re always in my dreams. Because there isn’t a second that can go by without my heart breaking from the thought of never seeing you again.
Since I was little, I grew up looking up to you more than anyone else. Not only are you the only brother I have; you’re my best friend. You’re the one person who I feel closer to more than anyone.
We’ve been through it all together, and not knowing where you are, how you are, or if you are even okay just makes my stomach feel sick. I miss playing with you, venting to you, hugging you, I even miss fighting with you. No one can ever replace family. I love you Sean, all I want to know is that you’re safe.

Love,
Danielle

We Remember . . . Save the Date: Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 2pm

Dear Family and Friends,

There is not a minute that goes by where we do not think of Sean and miss him so much it hurts… his smile, jokes and sweetness.  Below is a picture that captures some of Sean’s essence.   In this picture, Sean is white water rafting on a Class 4 rapid on the American River with Claude (Sean’s dad), good friend Jordan Malik, Phil Malik (Jordan’s dad) and 2 or 3 other people.   The river is swift, and Claude has just fallen overboard.   Through all the chaos, Sean (along with co-ham Phil) finds time to purposely turn to the camera and SMILE!

We want so desperately to find Sean.   We know that we cannot do it alone and we will only find Sean if EVERYONE knows that Sean is missing and urgently needs medical care.

PLEASE ATTEND THE ‘JOINT AWARENESS VIGIL’ TO  HELP RAISE AWARENESS OF THE SEARCH FOR SEAN &  3 OTHER MISSING BOYS FROM SAN FRANCISCO:  JACKSON MILLER, CHRISHTIAN HUGHES AND SHAWN DICKERSON

When:   Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2 pm

Where:  Music Concourse at Golden Gate Park
(located next to Academy of Science)

Together In Hope,
