SEARCHING FOR SEAN SIDI 8 MONTHS LATER 

It has been 8 months since Sean (age 19) vanished without a trace from San Francisco, CA. From day one, Sean’s severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) stacked the odds of survival AGAINST him. Doctors were clear about this. On the other hand, the prayers and help from so many of you continue to give us HOPE that we may find Sean in time. 

To that end – WE ARE AGAIN ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. 

OVERALL PLAN: We continue to follow ALL leads (they continue to come in). However, since we have NO confirmed leads placing Sean at a definite location, and given the possibility that Sean may be on the move (and the urgency of finding Sean ASAP) - the search for SEAN is being coordinated from 3 main areas. 

1. BAKERSFIELD, STOCKTON, SACRAMENTO, LOS ANGELES – ALONG HWY 5 

THIS IS THE AREA THAT WE NEED THE MOST HELP !!!!! 

IF YOU HAVE CONTACTS – (friends, church groups etc) IN THIS AREA – WE DESPERATELY NEED HELP WITH POSTING & DISTRIBUTING SEAN’S FLIERS TO HOMELESS SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS AND TO THOSE LIVING ON THE STREETS/ PARKS. 


2. SAN DIEGO AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Many living on the streets are moving SOUTH this time of year. 

The Southern Division of ‘NOR CAL Alliance for the Missing’ has started distribution of Sean’s fliers in San Diego and surrounding areas. However, this is a VAST AREA with MANY SHELTERS & LOTS of PEOPLE LIVING ON THE STREETS. 

MORE HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO POST AND DISTRIBUTE SEAN’S FLIERS TO HOMELESS SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS , LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HOSPITALS IN THE SAN DIEGO area.

3. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

This is ground zero. Thanks to ALL OF YOU, fliers continue to be distributed throughout Northern California. 
YOU CAN CONTINUE TO HELP BY KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR SEAN, AND BY CONTINUING TO REPOST AND DISTRIBUTE SEANS FLIERS THROUGHOUT SAN FRANCISCO, MARIN, THRU SANTA CRUZ AND THE ENTIRE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA.

TODAY, a manager at PEETS San Rafael (3rd Street) released the final version of why Peets erased the “Sean sighting” video surveillance of January 4th. The final explanation differs from the earlier one - that a woman had viewed the surveillance tapes of Jan 4th, confirmed that Sean was not on the tape, and the tape was therefore erased. 

The FINAL VERSION released by Peets today is that last week San Rafael Police viewed the surveillance tape of January 4th (coincidentally the same day as the “Sean sighting” tape) related to the theft of an ipad. Supposedly one of the assistant managers at Peets was viewing the video surveillance at the time that San Rafael police were viewing the tape.

This assistant manager, who has NEVER met Sean in his life, and who did NOT have ANY details regarding the description of the “older white male” with whom “Sean” was sighted, decided (according to story) that the January 4th surveillance tape did not include any picture of “two young men” (i.e Sean), and the January 4th VIDEO of the “Sean sighting” was thereafter played over/erased.

IT IS BEYOND BELIEF THAT PEETS WOULD ERASE THE JANUARY 4TH TAPE BASED ON THE DECISION OF SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER MET SEAN, AND WHO DID NOT HAVE ANY DETAILS (other than that released on Facebook) of the WHITE MALE, ESPECIALLY AFTER WE REQUESTED AND PEETS AGREED TO HOLD THE JAN 4TH SURVEILLANCE TAPE FOR US TO VIEW.

The fact is, we were NOT looking for “two young men”.

The sighting was that of white/asian teen with an “older white male”. While we did not disclose the age of the “older white male” on our post, the person providing the tip estimated the age of the “older white male” as BETWEEN 45 and 55 YEARS OF AGE. 

WE ARE ASKING THAT YOU PLEASE CONTINUE TO POST SEAN’S FLIERS IN MARIN AND ELSEWHERE, AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR SEAN (alone or possibly in the company of others). While we DO NOT know whether the teen in the sighting was Sean, PLEASE BE MINDFUL of a white/asian teen (Sean is 19 years old) in the company of a 45-55 year old white male - possibly with a slight beard, blond/grey hair & (slight) beard, medium build/height with a disheveled appearance. 

Sean is 19 years old, asian/white, 5’5”, 120 lbs and slim build; dark brown eyes and dark brown wavy hair (AFRO if untrimmed); wears SILVER DENTAL BRACES; has dimples, BUMP on right forehead from brain surgery, RIGHT eye droops slightly. May seem lost or confused.

We were in contact with managers at PEETS in San Rafael this weekend. Over the last 2 days, PEETS’ explanation as to WHO previously viewed the video – IF AT ALL- has changed several times. We are unsure as to why this is occurring and hope to get coherent answers this week.

The vendor at Laurel Village SF has indicated that we must provide exact DATE and TIME (within an hour) to access video surveillance. With the permission of the person who provided the tip, we have asked the vendor to access purchase information to attempt to pin down date/time. A week has elapsed with no answers. 

THANK YOU to so many of you who have posted in Marin!!!! Apparently, the fliers near the San Rafael/3rd Street PEETS location are being pulled down within 1 - 2 days. However, it appears that you all are reposting!! 

We have been told that BOLINAS remains an overlooked area – and one with a lot of homeless people. If anyone knows people who live in the area, willing to post Sean’s missing fliers, please have them email lynnkching@yahoo.com, and we will mail a packet of fliers to them. 

Over the course of the last several months, we have had several (unconfirmed) sightings and the 'strong scent find' of the search and rescue (SAR) dogs. While NONE of the sightings have been confirmed, in the absence of other information, we remain hopeful that Sean is still ALIVE. That being said, doctors have warned that Sean DOES NOT have time on his side. 

Please keep an eye out for SEAN SIDI, particularly among people living on the streets or in the parks. LIFEGUARD "FINDS" MISSING MAN LIVING ON STREET AMONG HOMELESS 

PRIOR TO SEAN (SIDI) GOING MISSING from San Francisco, CA on May 21, 2013, I did not connect those living on the streets and in the parks with MISSING people. As it turns out, I have since learned that a good number of reported missing people are living amongst the homeless, TOO ILL to know that their families are desperately searching for them.

HERE IS A REAL LIFE STORY OF HOW 1 MISSING MAN WAS RECENTLY FOUND:

Yesterday, my friend Brenda distributed Sean's missing person fliers to lifeguards and the homeless along Laguna Beach in S. California. One of the lifeguards told Brenda how he had recently located a missing person amongst the people living on the streets/beaches. The lifeguard noticed that 1 of the homeless seemed very confused and in need of medical and mental health help. He talked to the man and the others living with the man, did some research and found out that the man was reported missing!!! 

As you look for Sean (SIDI) among those living on the streets or parks (in and out of San Francisco), please keep an eye open for the 4 other young men missing from San Francisco: Crishtian Hughes, Shawn Dickerson, Cameron Remmer and Jackson Miller.   LIKE SEAN SIDI, they all have families desperately searching for them.

Yesterday, we reported a tip received from someone in San Rafael (Marin) about an older white male, with a mixed race (white/asian) teen at Peet's Coffee in San Rafael on or about January 4, 2014.  See Post of January 12, 2014. 

Later that evening, someone else reported seeing an older white male, with someone  resembling Sean.  This sighting occurred @ Dec 19, 2013 at Laurel Village, San Francisco.

We are attempting to secure video surveillance at both locations.

Dear Friends & Family,

In view of the search and rescue (SAR) team’s ‘strong scent’ recent find of Sean (see post of Dec 28, 2013), we are  seeking HELP posting Sean’s fliers.  THE FLIERS PLAY A CRUCIAL PART IN LOCATING SEAN.    

1.  THOSE LIVING OR WORKING IN SAN FRANCISCO:  

Fliers are pulled down by street cleaners within days of being posted.    Therefore, this time around, we would like to try the following (in addition to those who are so generously posting in a given area- thank you!!):

**** We are seeking help from as many people as possible to  POST JUST A FEW (3 OR 4)  of SEANS FLIERS on your weekly route –  and TO REPOST THE FLIERS AS NEEDED (i.e. as they are torn down), UNTIL SEAN IS FOUND.   If possible, please message or email lynnkching@yahoo.com, so that the GRID MAP can be completed.  The goal is to get most San Francisco streets posted with at least 1 of Sean’s Missing Person Flier.

2.  THOSE LIVING IN MARIN OR SONOMA COUNTY, NORTH ALONG HWY 1 OR 101.

There are various tips which make the Hwy 101 & Hwy 1 corridor (NORTH THRU MARIN AND SONOMA COUNTY) a posting priority (at this time) ALONG with San Francisco:   PLEASE POST IN THE CITIES IN MARIN AND SONOMA.  MANY PEOPLE LIVING HERE ARE NOT AWARE THAT SEAN IS CRITICALLY MISSING. 

3.   ELSEWHERE IN CALIFORNIA OR THE USA.  – PLEASE POST!!!!

YOUR FLIER MAY BE THE ONE THAT BRINGS SEAN HOME TO US, SAFE~!!
